The Provincial Government has named Adrienne Ding as the new Interim Consumer Advocate to represent the interests of customers in matters related to electricity services and automobile insurance in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Ms. Ding is a partner at O’Dea Earle, where she has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to client advocacy. Her experience includes litigation and legal research, and she has worked with respected bodies such as the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Canadian Judicial Council, and has served as legal counsel on several significant public inquiries.
With a practice focused on labour and employment law, civil litigation, and personal injury, she has developed a deep understanding of issues affecting individuals and communities. These qualifications make her exceptionally well-suited to serve as the interim Consumer Advocate, bringing both necessary expertise and a clear commitment to representing the public interest.
Ms. Ding replaces Dennis Browne KC, who has served as the Province’s Consumer Advocate since 2016, and recently tendered his resignation. Mr. Browne has served with dedication and commitment and government thanks him for his service to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador.
