Premier’s Medal for Arts, Heritage, Sports and Recreation

The Premier’s Medals for Arts, Heritage, Sports, and Recreation acknowledges the fundamental role arts, heritage, sport, and recreational activities play in our quality of life, sense of cultural belonging, ongoing well-being of our residents, as well as the vitality and economic prosperity of our communities and the province.

Any individual or group who has contributed significantly to arts, heritage, sport or recreation, may be nominated for a medal. Posthumous nominations will be accepted for individuals.

Nominations are accepted year-round but must be submitted before the deadline to be considered for the current award cycle. All submissions received will remain active for three consecutive award cycles. You are welcome to update your submission or support letter for your current nomination, and/or submit another.

In celebration of the Year of Sport and to coincide with the 2025 Canada Games, this year’s presentation will be enhanced to honour 10 recipients from the recreation sector and 10 recipients from the sport sector alongside two recipients each from the arts and heritage sectors.

To ensure consideration in the 2025 cycle, please submit nominations for Arts, Heritage, Sports and Recreation by Friday, September 19, 2025.

If you know of a person or group who has made an outstanding contribution to these sectors, please consider nominating them.
