2025-26 Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program

The Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program supports the development of accessible and inclusive transportation services that improve mobility within communities and regions. These services make it easier for Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to attend work, school, and medical appointments, run errands, visit loved ones, and participate in social activities.

The program supports various community transportation models, such as fixed-route services, on-demand services, and deviated fixed routes (where a transit vehicle follows a schedule and designated stops but can deviate from the route upon request). Funding is available through two distinct streams based on the nature of the project:

  1. Planning Projects: Eligible applicants may receive up to $10,000 to support the planning and design of new or expanded community transportation services.
  2. Capital Projects: Eligible applicants may receive up to $100,000 to support the purchase of capital assets necessary to operate a community transportation service.

Eligibility

Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with nearby communities and to consider regional approaches. Eligible applicants include:

  • Municipalities
  • Indigenous Governing Bodies
  • Provincially incorporated not-for-profit organizations

Deadline

The deadline to submit applications is June 2, 2025.
