Project Description:
The proponent proposes to remove hazardous materials and demolish existing infrastructure at the former U.S. Navy Recreation Camp in Northeast Arm, Dunville. This includes eight cabins, seven support buildings, and an underground waterline. Hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and potential ozone-depleting substances would be removed. No new construction is planned. The site will be restored as a publicly accessible green space. The project is expected to be completed within a two-month period.

- August 15, 2025 – Deadline for public comment.
- August 25, 2025 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- August 20, 2025 – The Minister has determined the project is released.
- September 24, 2025 – The Minister has accepted the Bat Presence/Absence Survey.
