Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct a dirt race track at Jumper’s Brook Road. The site is located approximately 7 kilometres east of Bishops Falls, and, approximately 1.5 kilometres south of the Trans Canada Highway in Central Newfoundland. The facility will be used as a stock car race track from May to October and snowmobile race track from October to May. A 4 metre by 4 metre wood framed building will be built on site and portable toilets will be used. Construction is scheduled to begin April 2005.

  • February 24, 2005 – The undertaking was registered.
  • April 1, 2005 – Public comments are due.
  • June 9, 2005 – The Minister released the project from further environmental assessment.
