Project Description:

The Proponent is proposing a 4.0-hectare extension to their existing quarry, located approximately 488 metres south of the Mortier Big Pond in the Town of Burin. Slate rock material will be extracted to be used for road construction, land development, backfilling and driveway construction within the Burin Peninsula. The Project has an existing road access.

• May 9, 2024 – The undertaking was registered.
• June 14, 2024 – Deadline for public comments.
• June 23, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• July 12, 2024 – The Minister’s decision has been extended.
• July 12, 2024 – The Minister determined the Project is released.
