Project Description:

The Proponent is proposing a 5 Year Operating Plan for Crown managed lands in Forest Management district 20 for the period 2025-2029.  The district covers 2.2 million hectares of boreal forest on the south coast of Labrador.  The plan consists of 15 commercial and 4 domestic operating blocks and would provide approximately 125000 cubic meters for commercial harvest and 21425 for domestic harvest.  The plan would potentially require the construction of 14.2 kilometers of access roads.

• July 8, 2024 – The undertaking was registered.
• August 16, 2024 – Deadline for public comments.
• August 22, 2024 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• August 23, 2024 – The Minister determined the Project is released.
